Quality improvement in primary care involves all primary care team members to help identify and implement changes to improve patient and provider experiences, health outcomes, and value while reducing systemic waste and inefficiencies.
Access in Primary Care:
A Quality Improvement Initiative
Every day, primary care providers are faced with the challenge of balancing supply and demand to meet their patients' needs. Busy waiting rooms and stressful workplaces are common -- but they don't have to be. The Advanced Access and Efficiency for Primary Care initiative is a learning opportunity for primary care providers and their teams, designed to help them overcome these challenges.
By participating in Advanced Access and Efficiency for Primary Care, you will learn how to implement best practices, change concepts, and approaches to improvement that will enable you and your team to "do today's work today." The core principle of Advanced Access is that patients calling to schedule a visit are offered an appointment with their primary care provider on the same day, or on a day chosen by the patient.
